Assessment, monitoring and NDT.
Training tells you what to do. Assessment tells you where you actually are. This is the measurement work that produces the reports a regulator, an insurer or a certification body asks you to hand over.
Occupational hygiene monitoring
Where a hazard has to be quantified rather than described, this is the work that does it. Each assessment produces a report written for the audience that will read it, whether that is DOSH, a certification body, an insurer or your own board.
- Chemical health risk assessment
- CHRA, the assessment of health risk arising from hazardous chemicals used at the workplace.
- Chemical exposure monitoring
- CEM, personal and area sampling to establish actual exposure levels against limits.
- Noise risk assessment
- NRA, noise mapping and personal dosimetry to establish exposure and control priority.
- Indoor air quality
- IAQ assessment for offices, production areas and enclosed workspaces.
- Local exhaust ventilation
- LEV monitoring, confirming that extraction is doing what it was installed to do.
- Medical surveillance
- Health surveillance programmes for workers exposed to identified hazards.
- Mobile audiometric testing
- Audiometric testing brought to your site, the natural pair to a hearing conservation programme.
- Water sampling
- Sampling and analysis for process water, potable water and discharge.
Audits and legal assessments
Separate from measurement, these establish whether the system on paper matches the workplace in practice, and whether both match what the law requires.
- Safety and health audit. A full audit of the OSH management system against its own procedures and against statutory duty.
- Workplace legal register assessment. Establishing which regulations apply to your operation, and whether each one is being met.
- Environmental audit. Conducted by a registered environmental auditor.
- Halal assessment. Internal halal audit and pre submission audit, ahead of a halal application.
- Food safety assessment. Gap analysis against MeSTI, GMP, HACCP and FSSC or ISO 22000.
- Engineering and technical compliance assessment. Including NDT assessment of plant and equipment.
Non destructive testing
Eleven methods, all performed to international standards. The right method depends on the material, the defect you are looking for and whether the asset can be taken out of service.
| Method | Abbreviation | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Ultrasonic thickness test gauging | UTTG | Wall loss and corrosion mapping on pipe and vessel |
| Ultrasonic test | UT | Internal flaw detection in welds and thick sections |
| Visual test | VT | Surface condition, weld profile and general integrity |
| Magnetic particle test | MPT | Surface and near surface cracks in ferromagnetic material |
| Radiography test | RT | Volumetric weld inspection with a permanent record |
| Penetrant test, dye penetrant inspection | PT / DPI | Surface breaking defects on non porous material |
| Acoustic pulse reflectometry | APR | Rapid screening of tube bundles and heat exchangers |
| Eddy current test | ECT | Tube inspection and surface crack detection in conductive material |
| Positive material identification | PMI | Confirming alloy composition of installed material |
| Electromagnetic acoustic transducer | EMAT | Couplant free ultrasonic inspection, including at temperature |
| Holiday test | HT | Coating and lining continuity on tanks and pipework |
Asset integrity
Beyond single method testing, we carry out the integrity work that decides whether an asset stays in service.
- Crane integrity inspection. Structural and mechanical inspection of lifting equipment.
- Tank integrity survey. Floor, shell and roof assessment on storage tanks.
- Failure analysis. Establishing why a component failed, so the same failure is not rebuilt into the replacement.
Common questions
Against scope. For hygiene monitoring that means the number of sampling points, the number of workers in the exposure groups and the site location. For NDT it means the number and type of assets, access conditions and whether the work is during a shutdown. Give us those details and the quotation is straightforward.
That is usually the better arrangement. A hearing conservation programme paired with mobile audiometric testing, or a HIRARC workshop paired with a chemical health risk assessment, means the same consultants carry the findings straight into the training room.
Tell us the material, the asset and what you are trying to find, and we will recommend the method. Wall loss on a pipe is usually UTTG. Weld flaws are UT or RT. Surface cracks are MPT or PT depending on the material. Tube bundles are often APR or ECT.

Tell us what you need to comply with, and we will tell you what it takes.
Send the scope and we will come back with a written quotation, a proposed schedule and the HRD Corp claim route where it applies.
